Mrs. Marguerite Maurene Parr Shoemaker, 90, of Clarinda, Iowa, died Friday morning, November 25, 1994 at Municipal Hospital, a few hours after being admitted.
She was born August 21, 1904 in Cherokee Territory, Oklahoma, the daughter of Isaac F. Parr and Emma K. Pitman. She married Charles Henry Shoemaker on August 16, 1923 in Burlington, Coffey County, Kansas. They lived in Southwest Iowa all their married life, moving to the Siam area in 1941. Mr. Shoemaker died January 1, 1962. After his death, Mrs. Shoemaker moved to Clarinda.
She is survived by three children, Mrs. Caroll (Katherene Margaret) Luther, Shenadoah, Iowa, Charles Henry Shoemaker, Jr. and wife Dorothy, New Market, Iowa, and Mrs. Junior (Delores) Renander, Clarinda. There are four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, one granddaughter, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with Loren Daly officiating. Burial was in Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Siam Christan Church.
