RILLA ADELINE WOLVERTON

Rilla Adeline Clark, daughter of Jacob D. and Hannah Clark, was born Aug. 7, 1875, near Woodburn, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Derby Nov. 12, 1960, at the age of 85 years, three months and five days.

She was united in marriage to John K. Wolverton Sept. 21, 1892. They made their home on a farm five miles west of Derby. They were the parents of five children: Clell, who died in infancy, Guerney, Earl, Twyla and Joe.

In 1926, she confessed Christ as her Savior and united with the Last Chance church, where her membership was retained until death.

Most of her life was spent in and around Derby and LeRoy. She had moved to her present home in Derby in 1939.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, who passed away in 1956, two children, Clell and Joe, two brothers, Ott and Newt, two granddaughters, one grandson and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Left to mourn her passing are three children, Guerney of Waterford, Mich., Earl, at home, and Twyla Church of Derby, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her for never has God allowed a life to be lived that joy was not wrought by something they did. To her family, it was love and devotion, to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren it was joy that only "Grandma" can bring. To the rest of her family and friends, it was her willingness to be a friend in need. Such devotion cannot be denied.
