Myrtle, 98, died February 14, 1994 in Oklahoma. Born in Montague Co., Tx. October 3, 1895 to Will and Zula Bell Carroll. At age 2 when her mother died, she and her father moved to Marlow, Okla. Territory. With his remarriage, he had three sons and a daughter, all of whom are deceased except for a 1/2 sister, Mirian Williams of Santa Rosa, Ca. Myrtle and Floyd Powell were married in 1914 and at his behest, she completed her senior year of high school at Ok. High School (later Central in OKC) in 1915. Floyd died in 1961. Myrtle is survived by two daughters, Patricia Powell Willis of Whittier, Ca. and Marjorie Powell Hedrick, OKC; two grandsons, Mark Hedrick and Joe Bailey and his wife, Janet of Lawton, Ok.; great grandchildren, Jim Campbell, OKC , Eric and Alex Bailey and Bobbi Todd; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Powell, Norman, Ok. and Margaret Carroll, OKC. Myrtle was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kati Bailey and her beloved son-in-law, Tooley; her grandson, A lan Hedrick; and many friends. After her children were grown and many years as a homemaker, she worked as a supervisor in receiving at John A. Brown for 30 years. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church of OKC.
