AT OLD BETHEL
Funeral services for John Walton
Guinn, 78, were held Thursday afternoon
at 3 o`clock at the Old Bethel Church with
rev. B. W. Wages officiating. Interment
was in Old bethel Cemetery under the
direction of Hilliard & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Guinn died at 7:55 a. m. December 17,
at his home on Route 2, Canton. A farmer
and life-long resident of the Canton area,
he was married to Modine Woolverton in
Myrtle Springs on January 17, 1925.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Bill
Carter, D. B. Carter,Eddie Guinn, Lonnie Guinn,
Johnny Bates,and James Bates.
Survivors include his wife of Canton; eight
sons, Hugh Guinn of California, W. L. Guinn of Lindale,
J. C. Guinn of Grand Saline, W. V. Guinn, Mafes Guinn,
and Allen Guinn of Dallas, J. B. Guinn of
Jacksonville, Elzie Lee Guinn of Mesquite;
nine daughters, Mrs. Mabel Jenkins and
Mrs. Grace painter of Grand Saline, Mrs.
Dora Mulligan of Missouri, Mrs. Virginia Hazel
of Fruitvale, Mrs. Julia James of Longview,
Mrs. Frances Guinn of Canton, Mrs. Nora may
Turner of Eustace, Mrs. Lois Guinn of Dallas,
and Mrs. Marie Turner of Seagoville;
two brothers, Jimmy Guinn and Eddie Guinn
of Grand Saline; one sister, Mrs. Bertie
Carter of Grand Saline; 39 grandchildren
and 35 great-grandchildren.

Guinn services held in Canton;
Funeral services for Modenner Estelle Guinn
were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 1983 in the
Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with
the Rev. Lynn Mullins and Rev. Ronnie Daniell
officiating. Interment was in the Old Bethel
Cemetery.
Mrs Guinn died Sept. 3 in Mabank at the age
of 84.
She was born Sept. 6, 1898 in Canton and
lived her life in Kaufman and Van Zandt
counties. She was a member of the Myrtle
Springs Baptist Church.
She married John Walton Guinn on Dec. 19,
1925. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1958.
She is survived by sons: John B. Guinn of Jacksonville,
Mafes Guinn of Mesquite, Elzie L. Guinn of
Royce City, and Allen Guinn of Sand Springs Okla.
Daughters: Mrs. Julie Jones of Fruitvale, Miss Frances Guinn
and Mrs. Nora Turner of Mabank, Mrs. Lois Dickerson
of Grand Saline and Mrs. Marie Turner of Dallas.
step-sons: H. C. Guinn of San Jacinto, Calif. and
Virl Guinn of Golden; step-daughters:Mrs. Mabel Morgan
and Mrs. Virginia Hazel of Grand Saline; half-sisters:
