Son of Charles C. Clute & Dorothy Bell Guyer

Charles Robert Clute, 85, of Waterloo died Wednesday, September 8 at home of natural causes.

He was born September 22, 1924 in Waterloo, son of Charles C. Clute and Dorothy Guyger. He married Doris Jean Nelson on October 15, 1950 in Waterloo. She died in 1978.

Mr. Clute was the former owner of Clute's Supermarket in Waterloo. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Shapiro of Oak Park, California; one son, Charles Dean (Patricia) Clute of LaQuinta, California; and one grandson.

Preceded in death by one son, Craig R. Clute; and one brother, Richard.

Private burial Friday at Elmwood Cemetery, with no public visitation. Sanders Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
