Charles C. Clute

Services for Charles C. Clute. 84, of 213 Moir St., are pending at Locke Funeral Home. Mr. Clute died at Roberts Waterloo Care Center at 1:36 a.m. Sunday of a stroke.

He was born Oct. 29, 1893. in Edgewood, son of Rie C. and Florence Alcorn Clute.

He married Dorothy B. Guyer Aug. 23. 1921, in Waterloo.

He served with the U. S. Army during World War I.

Charles C. Clute had been in the business in Waterloo since 1913, and was the city's senior grocer. He was past president of the Associated Grocers of Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles R. "Bob" Ctute of $21 Meadow Lane, and Richard J. Clute of 2447 Hawthorne Dr., Cedar Falls: and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday."
