Oren Kyle Clary, 81, of Arkansas City, former South Haven resident, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City.
He was Born April 13, 1915 in Bedford, Iowa, to Alvin Kyle and Selma (Straight) Clary. He was raised on a farm near South Haven after moving there in 1923. His father operated and dairy farm and Oren delivered milk to South Haven residents.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Reed on Jan. 4, 1941 in Troy. She preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 1992.

Oren was a farmer and rancher of Charolais cattle in the Ashton area. He was a member of the South Haven Christian Church and had been attending the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Charolais Association, the Kansas Wheat Growers Association and the Farmers Union and had received the Soil Conservation Outstanding Farmer Award.

He was married to Dortha Bilyeu on Oct. 9, 1994 at the Mt. Zion Church. The couple then moved to Arkansas City.

Oren was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin; and his sister, Eldena Clary.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha, of Arkansas City; his sons, George and Jim, both of Wichita; his daughters, Sandra Beggs of Wellington, Ada Fox of Arkansas City, Linda Schmidt and Amy Clary, both Wichita; his brother, Arlyn of Sand Springs, Okla.; his sister, Leola "Lee" Cornish of Conway Springs; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at the Hawks Funeral Home. The Dr. Rev. Sharon Hill will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and the Arthritis Association. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 this evening and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Arrangements are by Hawks Funeral Home.
