Services for Mrs. Ada Reed were held March 30, conducted by Rev. Dwayne Madsen. Burial was in the Blockton Cemetery, Blockton, Ia. Mrs Reed died March 26, at the home of her daughter and husband, Mabel and William Shay in Des Moines, Iowa at th age of 91.
Ada Reed, daughter of William and Della Miller Bosch was born in Nodaway County, Mo., 11-24-1886. She lived in Stillwater, OK., as a child until her father died when she was nine. Her mother then moved to Taylor County where she and her four brothers grew to adulthood.
On February 17, 1904, she was united in marriage to George B. Reed at Blockton, Iowa and they lived on the farm homesteaded by her husband'd father, Jacob Reed. To this union four children were born; one son, John William and triplet daughters, Mabel, Ferne and Wilma.
They farmed for 54 years until the death of her husband on 11-12-1958. She was a member of the Blockton Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons, Mike and John Wilmer Reed and her four brothers, Grorge, Orta, William and Don Bosch.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, John W. Reed and wife, Bessie, of Russellville, Mo.; her triplet daughters, Mabel and husband, William Shay, of Des Moines; Ferne and her husband, Howard Straight, of Bedford; Wilma and her husband, Oren Clary, of South Haven, Kansas; and ten grandchildren.
