Jacqueline “Jacki” Brophy, age 69, of Appleton, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, September 01, 2012, after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Jacki was born in Madison on October 30, 1942 to the late Floyd and Dora (Lange) Larson. On October 19, 1963, she was united in marriage to James R. Brophy in Madison. The couple enjoyed 43 years together until Jim’s death in 2006. Jacki has been a licensed beautician for many years. She also worked as a cashier and clerk at Kohls Grocery Store for 17 years and later became a licensed realtor and worked as a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker for 10 years. Jacki had an amazing talent for decorating homes. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and frequenting casinos from Jamaica to Canada – but most of all, Jacki enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, with whom she was affectionately known as “Gigi.” Jacki had a very fun loving personality and was loved by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Jacki will be sadly missed by her son, Mark Brophy, Tempe; 3 daughters: Sheryl (Jeff) Sweetalla, and their son A.J., Appleton, Julie (Dave) Bull, and their daughters Kirstin and Allison, Lake Wylie, S.C., and Diane (special friend Mike) Diedrich, and children Heather, Brianna, and Nicholas, Kaukauna; her loving companion Charles Beck, Baraga, MI; a brother, Larry (Margot) Larson, Holmen, WI; sister-in-law Juanita Keech, PA; and brother-in-law Blitz (Pam) Brophy, TN. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jim.

Gigi: We will miss your cinnamon toast, the slumber parties at your house, and the bubble baths. But most of all…we will miss you. We love you….Heather, Kirstin, Allison, Brianna, A.J., and Nicholas.
