"Malvin Lee Welty
Malvin Lee Welty, 86, of 1401 N. 16th, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Veterans hospital. He had been a resident of Grand Junction for 25 years, was a rancher, and at one time was custodian for the Veterans Hospital.

Mr. Welty was born Nov. 19, 1889, at Whitewater, Mo., where he spent his childhood. He married Ceola Emily Beeson Oct. 25, 1924, at Lamar. She survives.

Before coming to Grand Junction in 1951, he had lived in Yampa. He was a member of the Grand Junction Post, American Legion. His interests included ranching, hunting, fishing and bowling. He served in the armed forces during World War II.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Kier of Craig; a stepson, Walter Bennett of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, a brother, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ceola Emily Welty passed away at St Vincent's Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs Welty was the 3rd child born to Marggie Barcroft & Henry Beeson. She married her 1st husband Edgar Walter Bennett in 1916. After Ed's death she married Malven Lee Welty on 24 Oct 1924, who also preceded in her death. She was a longtime Cassville resident. She returned to Cassville from CO in 1975. She was a homemaker & a member of the Baptist church.
Besides her husbands, Mrs Welty was preceded in death by her parents, plus siblings: Roy Beeson & Mrs Stella Nafus.
Survors include children: Walter Bennett & Margaret Ella Kier; siblings Sharrock Beeson & Carrie Reno; 7 grandchildren & 9 gr grandchildren.
Rev. Don Beeson conducted the services.
