His parents married in Limestone County in 1889 and had been married 11 years when they divorced on Dec 1, 1900. His father Mack was married two or three more times, eventually settling down in New Orleans with his last wife who gave Mack his fifth child in 1912 who was named William Thomas Wolverton. Taylor's mother Drucilla married a second time to her first cousin Walter Thomas Vinson and they moved to Ellis County about 1904.
Taylor and his sister Bertha married two children of Jake Basinger and Lillie Kelly. Bertha married John Basinger and on June 10, 1917 Taylor married Emma Marie Basinger.
They had the following children:
1) Corrine (b. 1918)
2) Edith Isabelle (b. 1920)
