Mack C. is reported to have died in a sanitarium in New Orleans 3 Nov 1915. At this time, his son William Mack Wolverton was living in New Orleans and it is likely that he moved to New Orleans to be closer to his son in his old age. He was a resident of No. 1811 Fern St., New Orleans, his son's residence, at the time of his death.
Martha England (97 years old and living in Houston in year 2001) told her son Bill that Uncle Mack was a small man and wore a derby hat. She remembers seeing him as a young girl. (She was 11 years old when Mack died). As the guardian of John B. Wolverton's orphaned children, Mack was also responsible for managing the portion of Tilman's estate inherited by their father. Martha blames Mack for mis-management and loss of her father's inheritance.

Winifred "Winnie" Andrews Wolverton was born in near Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois in April 1841. She was the third child of Mary Davenport and Thomas Andrews whose other children were William (b.1834), and Jane (b.1838). As an infant, she moved with her parents to Van Buren County, Iowa where her father Thomas died about 1845.
Her mother, Mary Davenport Andrews, was born in Kentucky and was the daughter of George Davenport of North Carolina and his second wife, Winifred Clifton.
Winnie's mother, Mary Davenport Andrews, married second in Jefferson Iowa on Nov 14, 1847 to John Runnels. a widower with 6 children. This family was enumerated in the
1850 Census for Van Buren County, Iowa, Union Twp, living in dwelling 93.
John Runnels first wife's name is unknown. By his first wife he had 6 children: James (b.1828), Nancy (b.1832), Martin (b.1834), John Jr. (b.1836), Elizabeth (b.1838) and Andrew (b. 1835).
John Runnels and Mary Davenport Andrews had four children all born in Iowa: Thomas (b.1849), Mary (b.1852), Charles (b. 1854) and Martha (b.1855).
John and Mary Runnels moved their family from Van Buren County, IA to Limestone County, Texas about 1853. John died in Limestone County in February 1857 and was buried in Bennett-LeNoir Cemetery south of Mexia.
Mary was enumerated in the 1860 Federal Census as a widow living in Limestone County, Texas with her 18 year-old daughter Winnie (from her first marriage), her two step-sons Andrew (14) and John (23) along with the four children she had with John Runnels.
Winnie's mother Mary was 44 years old at the time of the 1860 Census and most likely soon married a third time. There is no record of her as Mary Runnels in any of the later census years nor is there a record of her burial in the same cemetery as her second husband John.
The family link below is to her Step-Father, John Runnels, who is also buried in Limestone County.
