OBITUARY

Jennie Bernetta Zwanziger was born on a farm near Tripoli, Iowa, Jan. 24, 1912 and died Feb. 18, 1920, at the age of 8 hears and 24 days. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Zwanziger. On Sunday, Feb. 8, she was attacked suddenly with appendicitis, and on Monday was taken to the Waverly hospital and there operated upon. At first she seemed to be getting along nicely, but complications set in and in spite of all that loving hands and medical skill could do she passed quietly away Wednesday morning, Feb. 18. Bernetta was a loving child, of a very sunny disposition, always singing about at her work or play. To know her was to love her. She is gone, but not forgotten. Tho her place is vacant at the table and her little feet are no longer heard coming down the stairs in the mroning, we cannot wish her back in this world of suffering and tears, when we know she is with the angels now, in that home of joy and sunshine. All thru her sickness she was very patient, When asked how she felt, she would always say she was all right. Left to mourn her death are her heartbroken father and mother, two brothers, James and Paul, and one sister, Mildred, and many other relatives.

We miss you from our home, dear Bernetta.
We miss yo [sic] from your place;
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of your face.
We miss your kind and willing hand,
Your fond and earnest care.
Our home is dark without you,
We miss you everywhere.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the home, one and one-half miles south of Horton, Rev, Woods officiating."
