John Allison, 73, Monaca

Monaca, Pa. -- John G. Allison, 73, Monaca. Pa., passed away June 20, 2015, after a battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Millersburg and was the son of the late Gordon and Margaret (Miller) Allison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife, Merry Carol (Brennen) Allison. John retired from U.S. Airways as a dispatcher. He was a former Deacon at North Branch Presbyterian Church. John also was an avid sports fan. He loved watching the Steeler football games and equally found enjoyment watching the Penguins and the Pirates, too. John served our country in the United States Navy as a peacetime veteran. He is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law Stephen and Julie Allison, Beaver, Douglas Allison, Monaca; his grandsons, who were also his buddies, Jeffrey and Bradley Allison. John is also survived by his sister, Marilee Allison, Canton; two nephews, Jason (Kimberly) Faught and Ryan Faught; three great-nieces and a great-nephew, Rebecca, Jacob, Chloe and Rachael. He also is survived by many loving members of the Brennen Family. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, 2026 McMinn St., Aliquippa, Pa. 15001. A service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with pastor Freda Snyder. The Beaver County Special Unit will provide military honors at the funeral home at 11 a.m.

Merry Carol (Brennen) Allison

Merry Carol (Brennen) Allison, 70, formerly of Center Twp., is now at peace. She passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Born December 24, 1940, a daughter of the late John and Margie (Livingston) Brennen. She was a 1958 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School in Saxton, PA. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hope Abramowitz and Dolly Brennen. Carol was a member of North Branch Presbyterian Church, Center Twp. She did secretarial work for Georgetown University and was later employed with North Branch Church and Dishler Reality. Surviving Carol are her two devoted sons and daughter-in-law; Stephen and Julie Allison, Beaver and Douglas Allison, Monaca; cherished grandsons, Jeffrey and Bradley Allison; three sisters, Julia Munyan, Veronica Jones, and Chesterly Stevenson. Carol is also survived by her former husband, John Allison, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are being received today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home, Aliquippa. A service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Liptak officiating. Interment following at Beaver Cemetery.
