Bernice Groff

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Bernice Eloise Groff, 97, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Regents Park Nursing Home in Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Larry Hasemeyer officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mandarin Senior Center, Hartley Road, Jacksonville, Fla., or to Millersburg Christian Church, 125 N. Clay St., Millersburg 44654. She was born Feb. 28, 1911, in Welcome, and was the daughter of Errett and Aleta (Larimore) Allison. On Dec. 30, 1931, she married Delois "John" Groff and he preceded her in death. Eloise moved to Florida 40 years ago. She was a member of Millersburg Christian Church and was active with the Mandarin Senior Center of Jacksonville. Surviving are two children and their spouses, Charles (Carol) Groff of Odessa, Texas, and Linda (John) Patterson of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delois Groff; a daughter, Mary Margaret Sundheimer; and a grandson, Scott Sundheimer.
