Funeral services to be Wednesday at the Gude Mortuary Chapel at 2pm. Pete Abbott d. Saturday afternoon at the Cook Nursing Home. He had been in failing health for six years.
De. Carroll Prouty will officiate and burial will be at the Wyuka Cemetery. Pall bearers are Melvin Conn, Robert, Gene, and Darold Abbott, and Delbert and Dale Barrett.
Mr. Abbott, a trucker who had lived in Nebraska City since 1925 was born April 15, 1902 at Imogene IA.
Children surviving are Mrs. Guy Pace, Grandview WA, Mrs. Dwain Hogan, Camp Unadilla, Bernard and Robert Abbott, Glenwood IA, Ralph Abbott, Granger WA. Sons Paul and George preceded him in death.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs Fannie Abbott, and a brother Albert, Nebraska City, and a sister Mrs. Melvin Cohn, Colon NE and 27 grandchildren.
Mr. Abbott was a member of Eagles.
