When India Ollie Wolverton was born on November 28, 1877, in Wirt, West Virginia, her father, Elisha, was 41, and her mother, Elcy, was 39. She married Ottie Asbury Richards on October 20, 1904, in her hometown. They had seven children in 18 years. She died on April 30, 1954, in Wood, West Virginia, at the age of 76, and was buried in Munday, West Virginia.
