E. Louise Shipman, 94, formerly of Antes Fort, died Monday, September 29, 2008, in the Valley View Nursing Center.

She was born February 14, 1914, in Liberty, PA, the daughter of Roy Lyons and the former Mary E. Kling.

For the past 13 years, she also was a resident of the Park Home and the Meadows.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Shipman, May 14, 1995; they were united in marriage, May 18, 1934.

For many years, Louise and her husband were self-employed farmers in Muncy and Antes Fort. She also was a member of the Antes Fort United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son Roy (JoAnn) Shipman of Lancaster, three daughters, Jean Stout of Lewisberry, PA, Joann Wolfe of Williamsport and Linda (Jim) Kroft of Fairport, NY, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Saint Luke's Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St., Williamsport, PA. Friends may call from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of services in the church. Burial will be in the Muncy Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Rev. Anke Deibler will officiate.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Antes Fort United Methodist Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, PA 17740, care of Doris Brungart or to the James V. Brown Library Book Mobile, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore is in charge of arrangements.
