James Luther Littlefield was born March 5, 1898 in Adamsville, Tennessee, the son of Clarence A. and Maggie Droke Littlefield. His siblings include Mrs. Etta Brewer of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Mrs. Rose Brown and Mrs. Nila Thomas, both of Memphis, Tennessee. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
He married Thelma Marcom at Memphis, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife and children, Mrs. Alice Graf of Lockport, Mrs. Nila Rebecca Fuchak of Staunton, LeRoy of Murphysboro, david of St. Ann, Missouri, James of Lockport, Wally of Sunset Hills, Missouri, and Allan of Gladstone, Missouri.
Mr. Littlefield was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro. He was a member of the Painters Local 352 in Murphysboro. He died at the age of 73 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

Thelma M. Littlefield was born Sept. 21, 1901 in Brownsville, Tennessee to Wiley and Alice (Parker) Marcom. One sister preceded her in death.
She married James Littlefield in 1921; he died in 1971. She leaves five sons, LeRoy Littlefield of St. Petersburg, Florida; David Littlefield of St. Ann, Missouri; Clarence Littlefield of Chattanooga, Tennessee; John "Wally" Littlefield of Sunset Hills, Missouri;l and Allen Littlefield of Gladstone, Missouri. She also leaves two daughters, Alice Bryan of Phoenix, Arizona and Nila Fuchek of St. Petersburg.
Mrs. Littlefield was a homemaker and a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Littlefield died at the age of 87 in DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. She was living in St. Ann, Missouri but was a former Murphysboro resident.
