— SUNBURY — Richard C. Kerstetter, 86, of 1903 Brush Valley Road, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Manor Care, Sunbury.

He was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Shamokin, a son of the late Charles and Janet (Miller) Kerstetter. On Dec. 13, 1947, he married the former Betty A. Stettler who survives.

He was a 1943 graduate of Sunbury High School and served with the Army during World War II.

Richard was employed by Bethlehem Steet, Steelton, and was last employed by Milton Manufacturing.

He was a member of United Lutheran Church, Sunbury, and the American Legion. During his lifetime he donated blood 111 times for a total of over 13 gallons.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, bowling, traveling and feeding the birds during winter. He was a great Phillies, Eagles, Penn State and NASCAR fan. He loved the times he spent with his family, especially his great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Linda A. Lloyd, of Lewisburg, and Wendy S. and Philip Martin, of Selinsgrove; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary R. and Kathy Kerstetter, of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Jason Kerstetter and wife, Trisha, Ashley Wool and husband, Gene, Cassie Marks and Husband, Jason, Kaitlin Martin and her companion, James Moening, Chelsea Saxton and husband, Scott, and Kayla Martin and her companion, Jarret Walter; one great-granddaughter, Haily Wool; one sister, Doris Berger, of Sunbury; and one brother, Paul Kerstetter.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, George, Clyde, Leonard, Donald, Jack and Earl, and one sister, Virginia Goisman.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. Robert Doll officiating.

Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

Betty Kerstetter, 91, of Sunbury, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020.
She was born Oct. 25, 1928, a daughter of Otis and Emma (Miller) Stettler. On Dec. 13, 1947, she married Richard C. Kerstetter, who preceded her in death.
Betty attended Shamokin schools. She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed Penn State and NASCAR. She went to LIFE Geisinger on weekdays and made many friends.
She is survived by three children, Linda Lloyd, Gary and wife Kathy Kerstetter and Wendy and husband Philip Martin; six grandchildren, Jason and wife Trisha Kerstetter, Ashley and husband Eugene Wool, Cassie and husband Jason Marks, Kaitlin Martin, Kayla and husband John Walter; nine great-grandchildren and one due in June; and a special relative she considered her sister, Shirley Benfer.
She had three brothers, Norman, Russell and Melvin; and four sisters, Dorothy, Helen, Gladys and Verna.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to LIFE Geisinger, 1100 Spruce St., Kulpmont, PA 17834, Attn: Center Manager. Memo line, in memory of Betty Kerstetter.
