Peggy's car became stuck in a ditch during sub-zero temperature in a desolate area 5 miles west and 1 mile north of Prairie Creek in the Wabash River bottoms. It is believed she sought to reach help by walking away and became exhausted while walking through the snow. Mrs. Whitlock appeared to have been dead at least 5-6 hours when her body was found frozen in a snow drift about 1 mile southeast of the auto. She is survived by her husband Harold, son Raymond Harold 8 and daughter Jennie Lou 5.
