"Bertha E. McGrew, 80, of 2420 Dexter St. died at 6 a.m. Friday, March 4, 1994, in Union Hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1913, at Terre Haute to Arthur Jeffers and Ginny Lawson Jeffers. She was employed at F. W. Means for 10 years. Her husband, James J. McGrew, died Dec. 7, 1989. Survivors include three sons, Mark McGrew of Rosedale, George McGrew of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Arthur McGrew of Terre Haute; two daughters, Judy Edington and Delores Burk of Terre Haute; two brothers, Otis Jeffers of Farmersburg and Charles Jeffers of Muncie; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jim McGrew and three grandchildren. Services are 1 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Finney officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today."
