Helen Hopkins
Helen M. Hopkins, 89, of Caldwell, died Friday, March 30, 1990, at a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Pastor William H. Webster of the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell, will officiate with burial following in the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
Mrs. Hopkins was born Sept. 20, 1900, at Oregon City, Mo., the daughter of Guthrie and Dora Stockton Mckinney. She was raised and educated in Missouri, Kansas and Colorado, graduating from Delta High School in Colorado in 1919. She graduated from Colorado College in Colorado Springs in 1924 with a bachelor of arts degree. After teaching high school for several years she married G. Guy Hopkins Dec. 28, 1927, at Cedar Ridge, Colo. They later moved to Idaho and farmed in the Wilder area. After their retirement they moved to Notus. Mr. Hopkins died Jan. 17, 1963. She more recently had resided in Caldwell.
Mrs. Hopkins was a member of the Fargo and Notus Grange, the Center Point Extension Club and a more than 50-year member of the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell.
She is survived by three sons, Lt. Colonel Neil Hopkins of Austin, Texas, Ivan Hopkins of Rupert and Clair Hopkins of Gordon, Ga.; a brother, Wilbur F. McKinney of Caldwell; a niece, Ruth Marshall of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
