"Roy M. Zabriskie, 87 died Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Oelwein Mercy hospital. He was a lifetime resident of the state and longtime resident of the Stanley area.

Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 19, 2 p.m. at the Brant Funeral Chapel in Oelwein. Brant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home after Wednesday, 7 p.m. Burial will be in Stanley cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; two sons, Milton, Aurora and George, Fayette."

"STANLEY (Special) - Jessie Hill Zabriskie, daughter of Thomas and Martha Greenhow Hill was born April 2, 1880 on her parents farm, south of Stanley. She died Jan. 23, 1973 at the age of 92 at the Lutheran Nursing home, Strawberry Point.

On March 12, 1902 she was married to Roy Zabriskie. They had four children. They spent their entire life in the Stanley area except for four years at Mt. Vernon, S.D. She was a member of the Stanley Union church.

Funeral services were held Jan. 26 at the Hintz Funeral home with burial in Stanley cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Newman officiated. Pallbearers were Duane Fox, Earl DeVolt, Frank Riche, Kyle Ingamells, Wyatt Kiefer and Phin James.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, Myrtle and Orville, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Milton of Oelwien and George of Fayette."
