John "Jack" Joseph Krause, Jr., 90, formerly of Mountville and Garden City Drive, Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his four children Monday morning, February 11, 2019 at St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, the late Eleanor "Ellie" B. Krause on July 26, 2018.
Born January 19, 1929, in Lancaster, he was the first child of the late John Joseph and Helen M. (Shoemaker) Krause. A devout Catholic, Jack was a life-long member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lancaster, where he volunteered in his earlier years. He was a third-degree member of Knights of Columbus 867, Lancaster. Jack was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, where he worked as a dental technician. It was there that he continued to hone his skills learned as an apprentice for a local dental technician prior to entering the Army. In 1953, Jack was honorably discharged and returned to his hometown. He was employed by the late Dr. Charles S. Gaige, DDS for over twenty years until Dr. Gaige retired and Jack decided to start his own business. He was well known for his attention to detail and exceptional ability making him one of the best dental technicians in the area. One of his closest professional relationships was with Dr. Frederick Teschner, DDS who remained a lifelong friend.
Jack loved sports especially Notre Dame football and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed bowling and played in several local leagues. Jack liked traveling and took his family on many wonderful trips throughout the United States. Jack was a member of the Millersville/Manor VFW-Post #7294, where he and Ellie could be seen weekly. The couple also loved dining out with Bonefish Grill easily one of their favorites.
He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband and father, Jack liked to share a laugh and a drink with family and friends. Those closest to him loved his sense of humor.
Jack is survived by daughters; Daphne K., wife of Robert K. Myers of Lancaster, Priscilla K., wife of Jeffery J. Kaiser, of Downingtown, Claire K. Campbell, of Lancaster, and son, John J. Krause, III, husband of Kristin (Neill), of Huntingdon Valley. He is also survived by grandchildren, Joseph P. Kaiser, married to Danielle, Sarah H. Kaiser, fiancée to Vincent Adamo, Margaret C. Myers, Robert A. Myers, Andrew J. Myers, Mary C. Drahovsky, married to Zachary, Caroline E. Campbell, James R. Campbell, Jack H. Krause and Harrison J. Krause. In addition, great-grandchildren Cayden D. Myers, Lily C. Myers, Natalie E. Myers, Michael J. Kaiser and Noah J. Drahovsky and a brother, Jerry Krause, husband of Anne (Grune) survive him.
He was also preceded in death by three siblings; Patricia (Krause) Gregor, Alfreda Krause and Robert Krause.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on SATURDAY MORNING, MARCH 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church on SATURDAY MORNING, MARCH 9, 2019 between 10:00-11:00 a.m. Final Commendation and Farewell will be held in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a Memorial Remembrance to one of Jack and Ellie's favorite non-profit organizations, Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, 625 Community Way, Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17603.

Eleanor B. Krause, 84, of Mountville, formerly of Garden City Drive, Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by her four children Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was the wife of John "Jack" J. Krause, Jr.
Known fondly as, Ellie, she was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Her faith in God's kindness was an inspiration to her family and friends. Ellie was a dedicated teacher and librarian for the School District of Lancaster working at Burrowes Elementary and Elizabeth Martin Elementary, before retiring in 1996. She attended college while raising four children and graduated from Elizabethtown College at the age of 51. She was an author, an accomplished seamstress and knitter and enjoyed traveling to New York City, Spring Lake, NJ and Holden Beach, NC. She enjoyed watching sports; especially Notre Dame Football, soundly defeating all challengers in games of intellect and memory and participating in the Philanthropic Educational Organ-ization. Her greatest joy was her family.
In addition to her beloved husband, Jack, she is survived by daughters; Daphne K., wife of Robert K. Myers, of Lancaster, Priscilla K., wife of Jeffery J. Kaiser, of Downingtown, Claire K. Campbell, of Lancaster, and son, John J. Krause III, husband of Kristin (Neill), of Huntingdon Valley. She is also survived by grandchildren; Joseph P. Kaiser, married to Danielle, Sarah H. Kaiser, fiancée to Vincent Adamo, Margaret C. Myers, Robert A. Myers, Andrew J. Myers, Mary C. Drahovsky, married to Zachary, Caroline E. Campbell, James R. Campbell, Jack H. Krause, and Harrison J. Krause. In addition, she is survived by great-grandchildren; Cayden D. Myers, Lily C. Myers, Natalie E. Myers, Michael J. Kaiser, and Noah J. Drahovsky. She was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
