Gregor, John Stanley

John(Jack) Stanley Gregor, 83, of Endicott, passed away Monday, June 5th. He was born August 18th, 1933, in Cokeburg Pa, the son of the late Stanley and Victoria Jobkar Gregor. He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia A. Krause Gregor who passed in 1990 and sister Jean Gregor Dziak Wilson in 2010. He is survived by his second wife, Joyce Erikson Gregor, three sons and their wives, Steven and Kimberly, Michael and Mary, Joseph and Christine, and two step daughters Debbie and Laura. Grandchildren include Jonathon and wife Michele, Brandon and Jason, Kyle and wife Mallory, Zachary and Allison, Nicole and Casey, and Andrew. Great grandchildren include Thomas and Olive.

As a boy he might be caught taking worms to school in his pocket in case he decided to go fishing instead of attending class. He became a boxer to survive. His father, along with school officials, coerced him into finishing high school on time by threatening to keep him in school until he was 21. He graduated and went on to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. After returning, he met his future wife, Patricia A. Krause. He attended Penn State and was the first in either family to receive any college education. He went to work for IBM in Endicott and after a successful career retired early to share more time with his wife. Dad loved golf, the peace of fishing and playing craps at any casino. He was a man of many talents and could teach himself to do any task he set his mind upon. He loved to "stir the pot" about anything. At family gatherings he would often walk into a room filled with people, start an argument, back off, and laugh at the lively and often heated conversation that he created.

The family would like to thank Evelyn and Barbara for helping our Dad when needed and Jen and Jess of Angels on Call for their loving home care of Joyce over the past months. At our Father's request, there will be no services. The family will host a gathering at a later time to honor him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in his memory.

Through it all Jackie, John, Dad, Jack, Uncle Jack, Pops, you were loved and you will be missed. Thank you for everything!"
