MILROY - Elmo G. Gonsar Jr., 69, of Milroy RD1 died at 2:54 p.m. Friday, Sept, 17, 1993, in the emergency room of the Lewistown Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1924, in Sunbury, a son of the late Elmo G. and Harriet L. (Warntz) Gonsar Sr. In 1945, he was married to the former Betty Speece.

Mr. Gonsar worked at Standard Steel, Burnham, as an electrician before retiring in 1987 due to a disability.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 1940, Lewistown.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary W. of Lewistown; four daughters, Cindy Kerstetter of Reedsville RD1, Kay D. Egan of Spring Mills RR1, Sheryl L. Gonsar of Lewistown RD1 and Lori Bloom of Reedsville; a sister, Shirley Metzger of Winfield; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. [NOTE: Shirley was actually the younger sister of Elmo's mother Harriet, and thus his aunt - his parents "adopted" her when her mother died (Shirley was 6 months old at the time)].

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, by the Rev. Marshall Deckard. Burial will be in Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown, where a graveside military service will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7011 of Lewistown.

Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral hoem [sic].

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, RD1 Box 135-A, Reedsville 17084."
