"Leonard G. "Lennie" White, 67, of 5449 Weiden Road, died Thursday, Aug. 26, at Allen Memorial Hospital, of natural causes.

He was born March 14, 1926, in Bremer County, the son of Glen G. and Mildred M. Zwanziger White. He married Alta Schwake. They were later divorced.

Mr. White was a laborer at Rath Packing Co., retiring Dec. 1, 1983. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II, in the European Theater.

Survivors include a special friend, Arline Heidemann of Waterloo, two stepsons, Roger Schwanke of Evansdale and Bob Schwanke of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Amy Lou Lantz of Waterloo; and a brother, Roger H. of Plainfield; preceded in death by a sister, Donna Mae, in infancy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Chapel, with burial in Horton Cemetery, Horton Township. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and an hour before services Monday.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623 and the becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 immediately following the service Monday at the funeral home. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will also conduct a walk-by at 7 p.m. at the funeral home."
