Thelma Fisher, 95, of Millville and formerly of Jerseytown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Millville Health Care Center. She had resided at Millville Health Care Center since December 2009.

Thelma was born June 23, 1918, in Moreland Township, Lycoming County, a daughter of the late William G. and Edith (Rishel) Opp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Fisher, on Oct. 17, 1992; three sisters: Ocie Opp; Edna Copper; and Jessie Bogart.

She was a member of the Jerseytown United Methodist Charge, where she played the piano for over 64 years and also was a life member of the Eastern Star Order 279 of Bloomsburg. A 1933 graduate of Jerseytown High School, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting and loved playing cards. She also enjoyed mowing the grass.

Thelma is survived by a son, Jack Fisher, and his wife, Connie, of Jerseytown; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Opp, and his wife, Lillian, of Easton.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, with the Rev. Anna Fyock, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Jerseytown Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Friends unable to attend may send condolences at bunnellfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Jerseytown United Methodist Charge, 11 Whitehall Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
