Evelyn Irene Farmer

Evelyn Irene Wolverton Farmer 2/1/1931 – 5/17/2019
Evelyn was born in Stanberry, Missouri, to Fred and Flora Wolverton. She was the youngest of nine children and is survived by her sister, Nadine of Cedar Rapids, IA, as well as her four children: John (Jeff) Farmer of Vernon, AZ, Don Farmer of Scottsdale, AZ, Sharon Parks of Mesa, AZ, and Alicia Farmer of Dobbins, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Evelyn spent her childhood in Missouri and Iowa, and then moved to Arizona in 1951. She and her late husband, Gerald (Bud) Farmer met while working at the O.S. Stapley Company in Phoenix and married in 1952. They resided in Phoenix until 1979 and then moved into the Payson area where they lived for over 20 years, with a two year interim time period in Oracle, AZ, where Bud served as a chaplain to the Arizona Boy’s Ranch. Evelyn enjoyed baking pies for the boys and stayed in touch with a number of them even after Bud passed away. Following Bud’s death, Evelyn moved back to the Phoenix area to reside with her daughter. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Choices Pregnancy Centers, one of Evelyn’s favorite charities. Monetary donations are acceptable as well as diapers and other baby supplies:

Evelyn is survived by her sister, Nadine of Cedar Rapids, IA, as well as her four children: John (Jeff) Farmer of Vernon, AZ, Don Farmer of Scottsdale, AZ, Sharon Parks of Mesa, AZ, and Alicia Farmer of Dobbins, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
