Longtime teacher, coach at Milton High School

Frederick Vastine "Rick" Seitz, 51, of 16 Spottswood Drive, Milton, died Monday, July 2, 2001, at his home.

Born May 9, 1960, in Danville, he was a son of Eleanor Vastine Seitz, Riverside, and the late Carlton Seitz.

A 1968 graduate of Danville High School, he also graduated from Lock Haven State College in 1972. During high school, he was active in football, basketball and track.

Seitz taught health, physical education and driver's education at Milton High School for 29 years. He was also head track coach at Milton High School, and in 1982, was named Coach of the Year. During the 2000-2001 school year, Seitz coached the Milton golf team. In addition, he was co-adviser to the Key Club and was class adviser a number of times.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Milton; Milton Area Education Association; Pennsylvania State Education Association; National Education Association; and the Friendship Fire Co., Danville.

An avid golfer, Seitz was a member and former club champion at the Turbot Hills Golf Club.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Michael Seitz, Milton; a daughter, Brooke Ann Seitz, Alexandria, Va.; a brother Carlton Seitz, Selinsgrove; and a sister, Mrs. William (Eleanor) MacLean, Bridgeport, W. Va.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the David J. Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, with the Rev. O. Allen Lumpkin, Geisinger Medical Center chaplain, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family."
