CLAUDE WARD WAS BORN JAN 3 OF 1881 AND WAS THE SON OF JOHN AND MARTHA LE MASTER WARD. HE WAS ONE OF 8 CHILDREN. HE ATTENDED THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF MACON COUNTY AND AFTER COMPLETING HIS STUDIES HE ASSISTED HIS FATHER IN THE OPERATION OF THE FARM. AFTER HIS FATHER DIED HE STAYED AND MANAGED THE FARM FOR HIS MOTHER. NOT ONLY DID HE MANAGE THE FARM HE ALSO MANAGED A DAIRY BUSINESS.
