Joe E. Melton, 84, of the Highlandville community, died at 5 am Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lewis. He had been ill more than a year. He is survived by three sons, Landon of Ozark, Andy and Harve of Highlandville; three daughters, Mrs. Bama McCullough of Sparta, Mrs. Rena Bridges of Ozark, and Mrs. Fay Lewis of Spokane; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Chaffin chapel at Ozark, Friday at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Floyd Hanks officiating. Burial will be in Prospect cemetery.
