Norvell died in Texas at the age of 21 from natural causes. He was the son of Tilman Wolverton and his first wife whose given name is unknown but who was an older sister of Tilman's second wife, Agnes McVickers. Norvell's mother died shortly after he was born and is buried in an unknown cemetery in Ohio.
