Roy William Watson Sr., 87, of Morning Sun, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Morning Sun Care Center.
Born Sept. 11, 1917, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Chalmer and Rosa Wolverton Watson. On May 12, 1938, he married Lois Swan in Fairfield.
Mr. Watson owned and operated the Morning Sun Grocery and Locker for many years before retiring.
He was a graduate of Morning Sun High School and a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a member of Morning Sun First United Presbyterian Church, Morning Sun Lions Club and Morning Sun American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; one son, David Watson of Morning Sun; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and two sisters.
There will be no visitation.
The graveside service for Mr. Watson will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Morning Sun Care Center. Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of arrangements.
