"Mr. Orlando Mann, who lived south of this village, died on Wednesday last, from the effects of a cancer. Mr. Mann had suffered everything but death for the last two years, by being literally ate up alive."

"Mrs. Orland Mann, one of the pioneer ladies of Michigan, having been a resident of the state since 1851, and a resident of the township of Ingham since 1863, died at the home of her son, Wilbur Mann, with whom she has lived since the death of her husband in 1878, April 18, 1884, in the 54th year of her age. She had been a devoted member of the Baptist faith since 1855, and was a respected christian woman. Three sons survive her."
