Everett Lewis Smith, 92, died August 5, 2012 in Tulsa. He was born June 15, 1920 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma to Erin and Mayme (Jones) Smith. Everett married the love of his life, Katherine Littlefield, on August 9, 1942. He received a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma University in 1948. He served as a Lieutenant Assistant S-3 of the 205th AAA Group in World War II. Everett retired from the Army Reserves as Lieutenant Colonel in July 1962. He retired from Cities Service/Oxy Petroleum Company as a Mechanical Engineer and Training, Safety, and Recruiting Manager. Everett was a member of Pilgrim Rock Masonic Lodge #522. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and son, Braden.

Katherine Littlefield Smith was born March 5, 1923 in Amber, Ok to Ollie Mae (Stapp) and Edmond Varner Littlefield. She attended Oklahoma A & M (now OSU). She received her Bachelor's degree in Library Science from Tulsa University and a Master's degree from North Eastern State University. She was the Librarian at Edison High School where she retired in 1989.

On Aug. 9, 1942 she married Everett Lewis Smith, the love of her life for 67 years. She is survived by her husband and sons; Edmond Lewis and wife, Mary of Angleton, TX and Braden Wayne of Tulsa, Ok, granddaughter; Dawn Smith Koenning, husband, Court of Humble, TX, grandson; Clancy Smith and wife, kacey of Turtle Creek, PA, grandsons; Stephen Viator of Buda, Tx and Michael Viator and wife, Cherie of Houston, TX and granddaughter; Susan Woodard and husband, Keith of Keller, TX. Six great grandchildren; Carson & Cade Koenning, Averie & Annslie Woodard, and Kendall & Collin Viator.

She is also survived by her beloved sister ; Joy Willson of Tulsa, and many nieces and nephews. Her half sisters; LeAnn Gunderson, Liz O'Shaussney, Jeanna Regier, Linda Rondinella, Edith Sundby & Jeanita Ritch. Preceded her in death were her parents, brothers; Cloyce & Clint Littlefield and sister; Ruth Littlefield Eaker. Her love of genealogy was her hobby, she work endless hours, tracing the Littlefield and Stapp families.

She was past president of the Tulsa chapter of D.A.R. and a member of daughters of the American Colonists, and The National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century.

She received a 30 year pin for her dedication as a volunteer for the Children's Medical Center.

Katherine was a member of Harvard Avenue Christian Church for many years.

Katherine will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends and will be remembered for her sweet smile and kindness.

Services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at Harvard Avenue Christian Church at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Stanleys Funeral Home from noon to 5:00 pm. Interment will be at Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
