From the Bushnell Record, Bushnell Il, by Joyce Worthington Brewer (contributor, not author):

"Mrs. John Hoover.

Elizabeth Hoover, wife of John Hoover, died at her home in this city last Friday evening, the 8th. Earlier in the week she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she was unable to rally.

Funeral services were held at the residence at eight o'clock Sunday morning, in charge of Rev, William Miedema of the Reformed church. The remains were taken to Avery, Ohio, for interment.

Mrs. Hoover was born near Shamokin, Pa. In 1843 she moved with her parents to Ohio. She was married to John Hoover March 28, 1866 [possibly should read 1846]. In 1874 they came to Bushnell, and this city has been their home ever since.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hoover, four of whom are living. They are Isaac Hoover and Mrs. Emma Prout of Avery, Ohio; Lewis Hoover of Lakeside, Cal.; and George Hoover of Hastings, Neb. Mr. Hoover also survives his wife.

Mrs. Hoover was a good woman, a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow."
