Darrell Eugene Grimes, 54, of Jamestown, passed away at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016. He was born in Lebanon on Nov. 9, 1961, a son of the now late William Darrell and Anna Louise (Hicks) Grimes.

On Jan. 13, 2009, he was married to Angela J. (Vandeventer) Crouse in Lebanon; she survives.

Darrell was raised in Boone County and was a 1980 graduate of Western Boone High School. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country honorably. He then received his heating and air conditioning certification from ITT in Indianapolis.

For the past four years, he worked as a truck driver for Standard Forwarding in Crawfordsville.
Darrell enjoyed his family and friends and had a fondness for all animals.

He was a member of Harvestime Fellowship of Jamestown.
Survivors include wife, Angel Crouse of Jamestown; two children, Ashley Crouse and husband, Don Arbuckle, of Lebanon, and Dusten Crouse of Lafayette; two brothers, Russell Poe of Lebanon, and Timothy Grimes and wife, Chris, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Barbara Engle and husband, Levi, of Lebanon, and Jessica Britt of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services with military rites will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
