Funeral services for Faye Cummings, 84, will be held Tuesday afternoon, September 16, at 2 p.m., in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.


A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Monday evening from 7 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The daughter of the late Lowell Jefferson and Artie Melissie Butler Johnson, Faye was born May 2, 1930, at Brock, Oklahoma, and passed away on September 11, 2014, at her Lone Grove residence.


Faye and Louie Edward Cummings were married November 24, 1950, at Ardmore and he preceded her death July 10, 1993. Faye was also preceded in death by an infant son; her grandson, Verlin Ward II; her sister, Syble Davoult; and her brother, Kenneth Johnson.


Faye had been a resident of the Lone Grove community all of her life. She graduated as co-salutatorian of her Lone Grove High School class. She enjoyed reading, working crosswords, watching the hummingbirds and lighthouses. She loved being with family and especially her grand and great-grandchildren.


Faye is survived by her son, Danny Cummings and his wife, Jan of Crosby, Texas; two daughters, Kathy Ward and her husband, Verlin and Lisa Losson and her husband John all of Lone Grove; her brother, Harold Paul Johnson also of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Cory Ward and wife, Erin, Matt Ward and wife, Tracy, Melinda Ward Landreth, Victor Cumming and wife, Colleen, Mindi Cummings Tipps and husband, Jeff, Cody Losson and wife, Stacey, Derick and Devan Losson; and her great-grandchildren, Maddison, Elizabeth, Cooper, Brylan, Caleb, McKinnley and Taylor Ward, Braden, Rylan and Lincoln Cummings, Aubrey and Brooklyn Tipps, Levi Davis, and Braden Losson.


Serving as bearers will be Cory Ward, Victor Cummings, Matt Ward, Cody Losson, Derick Losson and Devan Losson. Honorary bearers will be Harold Paul Johnson and Johnny Wilson.
