Walter was the first child born to Jesse and Edna Watson Johnson. He married Margaret Crotty in 1946.They are the parents of Patricia Johnson Czerniakowski and two grandchildren. He is the brother of Lillian Johnson Spevak and Betse Johnson Welch. He was a gunners mate in WW2 and Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the V F W post 7213 of Norwood Delaware County Pa. He worked as a Carpenter of Local 845 United Carpenters and Joiners of America.

"Walter liked to go fishing along the New Jersey coast. He is missed by all who knew him."

Age 97. Of Morton, PA. Passed away on October 27, 2009 at her daughter's home in Reedsville. Margaret was born on November 28, 1911 in Bloomsburg, PA and is the daughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Crotty. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Johnson who passed away in 1997. She was also preceded by her 3 sisters Elizabeth Murry [sic], Pauline Gallagher and Ethel Crotty.

Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Dr. John Czerniakowski of Reedsville. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren Marianne Weltmer and Joseph Czerniakowski and a great-grandson Nathan Weltmer.

Margaret was previously employed as a salesperson in Lit Brothers in Broomall. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Morton, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday November 3rd at 11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Morton, PA. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
