Gerald G. Gard, 69, of Cory, passed away Sept. 25, 2014 at I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis following complications from kidney failure. He was born June 26, 1945, in Brazil, the son of D. Dillion Gard and Caroline G. Jackson Gard. He graduated from Cory High School and played on the Cory Apple Boys Basketball Team.
On Aug. 31, 1963, Gerald was united in marriage to Judith Crafton Gard. He primarily was a heavy equipment operator for Victory Landfill, Center Point Landfill and Peabody Coal. He last worked for Solar Sources before retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He also had draft horses and helped with the local area horse pulls. He was a member of the Cory Nazarene Church.
He joined in heaven his parents, Dillion and Caroline Gard; and brother, Willis Gard.
Gerald married Judith Gard.

Judith A. Gard, 74, of Cory, passed away at home, with her family by her side, June 1, 2018, following a brief illness. Judy was born on July 8, 1943, in Clay County, the daughter of Marie Crafton.

Judy's mom passed away when Judy was very young. She was raised by her grandparents, Vinnie and Terrie Crafton. Judy graduated from Bowling Green High School. Shortly after high school she married Gerald Gard. He passed away in 2014. Judy and Gerald had three children, Cindy, Carol and Chad.

Judy was a member of the Cory Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed yardsaling, watching old movies, gardening, cooking, trading recipes and playing cards, especially euchre.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Gard Anderson, Carol Fritz and husband Jeff, and Chad Gard and wife Kim; grandchildren, Sheena Strain, Joshua Strain (Kenzi), Kacie Nicoson (Andrew), Darcie Fritz (fiancé Shan Antony), Bradie Fritz, Wyatt Gard (Victoria Burk), and Tori Gard; great-grandchildren, Parker Gaddis, Zyler Williams, Kasyn Strain, Jaxton Strain, Kylie Nicoson, and Gracyn Nicoson; her beloved Maltese companion, Buddy; as well as many extended family members.

Graveside services will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Clay City, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Pat Shay officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cory Church of the Nazarene, 245 S. County Road 500 W, Cory, IN 47846.
