Ira C Chatham was born April 20, 1856 at Lamar, PA to Robert Chatham and Elizabeth Johnston.

Ira was married to Emma Wintersteen.

Ira died on Aug. 28, 1916 at Lock Haven, PA. He was 59 years old, married, and lived at 633 Bellefonte Ave. Ira was buried at the Highland Cemetery on Aug. 31st.

Chatham – Ira C. Chatham, died at his home, No. 633 Bellefonte avenue at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon from heart trouble and complications, after a long illness.
He was a prominent member of the First Baptist church of this city and was an official and deacon in the church. Deceased lived an exemplary Christian life and will be greatly missed in the congregation of his choice, where he was a very active worker. Mr. Chatham was also a member of Olympic Council No. 932, Royal Arcanum of this city.
Ira C. Chatham was the son f Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chatham, and was born at Lamar in 1856. His father was a farmer and and he lived at Lamar for a few years, when his parents moved to Flemington. When a young man 17 years of age, Mr. Chatham went to Farrandsville and secured employment in the general store of Fredericks, Munro and Co., a position which he capably and faithfully filled for 25 years. While living at Farrandsville he was united in marriage to Miss Emma WInterstein, of that village. Two children, Fred and Miss Elva, both of whom still make their home at 633 Bellefonte avenue, were born to the union. After the general store at Farrandsville had been sold, Mr. Chatham went to Karthaus with his family. At Karthaus he was general manager of the fire brick works. Seven years ago the family moved to this city and Mr. Chatham accepted the agency of this district for the McCaskey Cash Register company, of Alliance, Ohio. He was a man of strict integrity and sound business principles and during his seven years as a citizen he made many warm friends here.
He is survived by his wife and two children above mentioned, one brother, and two sisters, J. W. Chatham, of Reynoldsville; Mrs. S. B. Jobson, of Niagra Falls, N.Y. and Mrs. R. W. Fredericks, of this city.
Funeral services were conducted at the house Thursday morning at 10 o’clock by Rev. E. A. Rook. Interment in Highland cemetery.

Emma J Wintersteen was born Oct. 3, 1858 in Washingtonville, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Ira Chatham.

Emma died on Dec. 6, 1918 at Lock Haven, PA. She was 60 years old, widowed, and lived at 633 Bellefonte Ave. Emma was buried at the Highland Cemetery on Dec. 10th.

Chatham – After being in poor health since the death of her husband, Mrs. Ira Chatham sustained a paralytic stroke two weeks ago, from which she failed to rally and passed away at her home at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. She was a life long member of the Baptist church. She was born at Washingtonville, PA, and after marriage to Mr. Chatham, resided at Farrandsville, for a number of years, moving to this city about six years ago. Deceased is survived by one daughter, Miss Elva, and one son, Fred, both at home.
