Betty Speer was born Dec. 8, 1927, and died March 1, 2001. She leaves her husband, Glen Speer; two daughters, Patricia and Tye Ann; three sons, Merle deceased, Edward and Glen Speer Jr.; three daughters-in-law, Jacklyn, Cindy and Reba; two sons-in-law, Steve Bjork and Tom Baker; nine grandchildren, Brian deceased, Dana, Windy, Candice, Glen, Jillian, Eddie, Connor and Amanda; four great-grandchildren, Shawnasty, Arron, Mike Jr. and newborn; sister Vida Reis; three brothers, Leo, Dale and Dean Chaney; three sisters-in-law, Betty, Jane and Flora; nieces, nephews and three aunts; and many relatives and friends. She attended Temple Baptist Church since 1987. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Road in Apple Valley. Pastor Randy Burk will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent to Temple Baptist Church - AWANA Club, 11222 Maple St., Hesperia, CA 92345. Sunset Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.
