Obituary
Doris June Cass Harris, September 19, 1938 - August 31, 2020, born to Clyde and Bessy Cass on the family farm in Sullivan County, Indiana. Doris grew up and attended school there. After finishing high school, Doris worked for Indiana Bell before starting a career with Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1977 she took early retirement. In retirement, Doris became a Prolific Primitive Artist and her work can be found in homes across America and in Germany, South Korea and Japan. Doris and husband Ed formed a successful privately held corportation that dealt in property development, land speculation, rentals and livestock. Doris was an Environmentalist, supporting clean, sustainable, renewable energy. She loved animals. All that knew Doris, loved her.

Doris is survived by husband of 43 years, Walter Edward (Ed) Harris, Jr.; stepdaughter, Lori Vonel Williams and family; stepson, Jonathan E. Harris and family; brother, Glenn R. Cass and family; sisters-in-law: Ellen Marks and family and Rebecca Lynn Wieder and family and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bessy Cass; brothers: Max, Don, Joe and Lex Cass and sister Gayle Cass Clark all of Indiana.

There will be no funeral or visitation. Cremains will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, Terre Haute, Ind. Respect of privacy is requested. Please, no phone calls or visits to the home during this period of mourning.
