James Abbey Carroll, the son of William Aulsey Carroll and Sarah Elizabeth Wolverton Carroll, came to Montague Co., TX with his mother and siblings after the death of William Aulsey Carroll. He married Lelia Belle Moose in 1892 and in 1899 moved to Ardmore, Chickasaw Nation, II. He was the father of James Homer, Adrian Theodore, Flora Mae, Sallie Levera, Helen, Doyne, Charles Franklin, Roland Belton, Hallie Fay, Oradee, Velma M., and Vadys. He was a farmer.

Lelia Belle Moose was the daughter of John McCoy Moose and Sallie Curtis. She was the oldest of at least 7 children. Her siblings were H.A. Moose, Charlie R. Moose, Anna Loraine Moose Shackelford, Hattie Moose Corbett, Fred Moose & Frank M. Moose.

Lelia & James' children were James Homer, Adrian Theodore, Flora Mae, Sallie Levera, Helen, Doyne G., Charles Franklin, Lottie Lee, Roland Belton, Hallie Fay, Ora D., Velma M., and Vadys Roberta.

Lelia's parents moved the family from Spencer Indiana to Montague County, Texas before 1880. Lelia married James Abbey Carroll on 14 Feb 1892 in Montague County, Texas, moved to Ardmore area around 1899, and lived a short time in Oklahoma City before returning to the Ardmore area.
