General Affidavit, 2 August 1913, by John B. Crafton:
"That I have known Liza J. Vansant (sic) since she was a small girl and that I knew her when she became of marriageable age, and that she was first married to Caled (sic) Woolverton who committed suicide on May 20, 1896, and that she was not again married until she married William W. Vansant, the soldier, and that she lived with him continously until his death on June, 14th 1912, furhter (sic) she was never married but twice, first to Caleb Woolverton and second to William W. Vansant whose former wife had previously died."

General Affidavit, 18 November 1915, by Liza Jane Vinzant, age 72, for widow's pension as the wife of William W. Vinzant (deceased):
"That she is the Claimant in the claim for pension, that her former husband, Caleb Woolverton, never served in the Army or Navy of the United States in any capacity whatever and never enlisted.
"Affiant obtains above knowledge from having been united in marriage with the said Caleb Woolverton on October 3, 1863 and from having kept company with him for several years prior to date of said marriage."
