Born Feb. 27, 1928, in Morning Sun, he was the son of George and Lulu Wolverton Bryant. He married Marcella Marshall on Feb. 2, 1957, in Nashua.
Mr. Bryant was a graduate of Morning Sun High School. He served in the Army in Japan after World War II. He worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown for 31 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Morning Sun United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark of Morning Sun and Rusty of Peoria, Ariz.; two daughters, Pam Dohrn of Austinville and Rondee Troester of Garnavillo; two brothers, Cecil Bryant and Walter Bryant, both of Morning Sun; three sisters, Darlene Dean of Morning Sun and Maxine Hobbs and Shirley Haight, both of Mediapolis; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family will meet with friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Bryant will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Marcella A. Bryant, 77, of Morning Sun died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born Nov. 11, 1932, in Morning Sun, she was the daughter of Gilbert Conrad and Opal Pauline Baird Marshall. Opal later married Grant Nichols. In October 1950, Marcella married Don Keltner. They divorced. On Feb. 2, 1957, she married Kenneth Robert Bryant. He died Jan. 13, 2005. Mrs. Bryant worked at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant Middletown, Sylvania in Burlington, and retired from US Gypsum plant in Sperry. She graduated from Morning Sun High School. She was a member of Morning Sun United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Mark Keltner of Morning Sun and Rusty Bryant of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Pam Dohrn of Austinville and Rondee Troester of Garnavillo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Elwood Marshall, Albert Nichols, Ronald Nichols and David Nichols; and one sister, Mary McDonald. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Bryant will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morning Sun United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
