Florence Groves Brubaker, 88, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Bird-In-Hand, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was the widow of Donald M. Brubaker, who passed away in 1995. Born in Germantown, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Alexander and Ellen Kennedy Groves, of Philadelphia, PA and formerly of County Down Northern Ireland.

Florence graduated from Germantown High School and completed courses at Temple University.

In Florence's early life she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Leola Women's Club. Over the years her interests included playing the piano, bird watching, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family.

Florence was blessed with many talents. She led a fulfilled and productive life devoted to her home, family and friends. She was an extraordinary person with a beautiful smile.

Surviving are her three daughters, Patricia B., married to P. Michael Yoder, Ephrata, PA, Sandra B., married to Bruce S. Adams, Springfield, VA and Carol B., widow of the late Robert I. Baldwin, Jr., Lancaster, PA. Five grandchildren survive: Carrie L. wife of Kyle H. McCarty, Ephrata, PA, Colin G. Adams husband of Michelle, Springfield, VA, Erin L. wife of Ryan M. O'Connell, Woodbridge, VA, Robert Andrew husband of Elizabeth W. Baldwin, Lancaster, PA and Alexander M. Baldwin and partner, Kimberly Knoth, Jacksonville, OR. Eight great-grandchildren survive: Reagan and Avery McCarty, Jacob and Claire Adams, Abigail Florence and Mila O'Connell, Benjamin and Weston Baldwin. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Edith W. Groves, Lancaster, PA.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, George A. Groves, Jr., William J. Groves, Eleanor Warren, Violet Root and a great-grandson, Ian Y. McCarty.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 12 noon at The Groffs Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 528 W. Orange Street (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.) Lancaster, PA. The family will greet friends following the service. There will be no public viewing and the burial will be private.
