Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Brown, 63, of 700 East Fifty-ninth street North, proprietor of Brown’s studio, died Friday night after an illness of several months. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, April 8, 1866, of Scotch parentage. He was graduated from Princeton in 1893 and from Princeton Theological seminary three years later, entering the home missionary field for the Presbyterian church shortly afterward. His first charge was in Chehalis, Wash., 33 years ago and he later had charge in Montana, Iowa, Kentucky, New Mexico, Texas and California. He brought his family to Portland in September, 1919, engaging in the photographic business in Sellwood. He was president of the Greater Sandy Boulevard Improvement club and a member of the Portland Realty board and Portland Breakfast club. He was also a member of the Portland Presbytery and Oregon synod and was active in Boy Scout work. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances Wolverton Brown; by two sons, Kenneth Brown Jr. and Daniel Brown, all of Portland, and by a brother and two sisters in the east. The funeral will be held at the parlors of Edward Homan & Sons Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock.
